This weekend the Copenhagen Cocoa's Developer Conference 2011 took place. And boy what a conference.
Almost everyone from Denmark doing some serious (and non-serious) iOS development were there and lot's of developer's from other countries including Sweden and even the Netherlands went all the way to take part.
The main activity was the app coding marathon where the best app would be awarded with an iPad for the creators. All 60 participants jumped into that challenge with an incredible amount of enthusiasm. After 48h of design and coding 8 new apps were born. All groups had very cool prototypes to show on Sunday and only very few votes who separated the winners from the rest of the teams. Very well done everyone.
Saturday featured some tech talks by several experienced developers. I had the pleasure of giving a talk on Blocks and GCD - recent additions to the iPhone toolchain. My talk was recorded and is now available online:
The other talks are also available on Vimeo featuring topics such as Introduction to Objective-C, Memory Management, Reliable Software using patterns and Test Driven Development, RESTful webservices, Git and Github, Custom UI and Meaningful Splash Screens.
