E-book sales top paperbacks

According to CNN Money we have seen a breakthrough in the beginning of 2011.
E-book sales in February stopped all other formats including paperbacks and hardcovers.

The sales of E-books seems to be heading one way only - upwards. The story is based on an industry report released this week. As CNN reports one should take this with a grain of salt as some book retailers don’t submit their data. Still it shows a tendency of what is to come, and as a part of the Danish E-book scene we are definitely seeing the same thing. Since we launched Bøger with Gyldendal we are seeing a steady rise in people purchasing E-books. By looking at the list of top grossing apps in the App Store, where Bøger has been sitting comfortably among top 10 for quite some time, and by looking at the sales so far we can see that also the Danes are really starting to embrace ereading.
