DBA is the largest Danish market place where people can sell their used goods for other people. There are more than 700.000 ads for the users to browse through at any given time. They came to us when they were about to start working on their app for iPhone and iPod Touch. They wanted us to do the User Experience part and the interface design for the app. The app needed to look clean and attractive and to make the users of website feel right at home. On top of that the DBA wanted a unique home screen with an easy way to jump to a specific feature. We did a clean and user friendly custom design for every part of the app. The goal was to make searching for products as intuitive as possible. One of the challenges was to make room for an unlimited number of features as they add more to the app. The solution was a list of icons arranged horizontally which you can swipe between. We think it works really well.
The reception from the users has been great so far. It reached the #1 spot on the TOP 25 free apps list in the App Store when it came out. A year after the launch of the app almost a million people use it to browse the ads every day.
"It has been a pleasure working with Nicolas from SHAPE! We were in a hurry and needed a design for our app and wat we got was a flexible and very satisfying service. We have benefitted greatly from Nicolas’ creative inputs and sparring when it comes to design, user experience and interaction. We would definetly like to work with SHAPE again."
